Honest guidance on what the evidence does and doesn't show
What is GHK-Cu?
GHK-Cu, also called copper tripeptide-1, is a short peptide that binds copper. It occurs naturally in human blood, and levels drop with age. In laboratory studies it affects collagen, elastin, and the way tissue repairs itself.
That is why it shows up in serums, creams, and, more recently, injections sold online. Lab results are only a starting point. Whether they turn into a real benefit for your skin or hair depends on human research, which is still limited.
The form matters. Most human data comes from products applied to the skin. Those results do not tell us whether injections work or are safe, and injectable products bought online carry added risks around purity and sterility.
A Consultation Can Help If You Are
A Thoughtful Decision.
A Physician in Your Corner.
Whether you are exploring GHK-Cu or already using it, a consultation gives you a clear picture of your options and a plan for what comes next.
Understand your situation
We review your goals, medical history, medications, and the exact product you use or are considering, including where it came from and how it’s taken.
Weigh the options
We explain what the evidence supports, what is still unknown, and which established treatments may reach your goal with less risk.
Choose the next step
Together we agree on a plan. That may include monitoring, a different treatment, or stopping a product. You leave knowing what to watch for and when to check in.
Already Using GHK-CU?
Bring the product label, where you bought it, how you use it, and any symptoms you’ve noticed. We’ll review your experience and discuss whether to continue, change course, or stop, and whether monitoring makes sense. Normal lab results cannot confirm what is in a product or make an unapproved product safe.
If You Continue, We Stay Involved
Monitoring does not approve a product. It helps catch problems early and gives you a clear point to decide whether something is working.
- A starting point. We record your baseline, with photos, symptoms, and labs when needed, so later changes mean something.
- Exams at home or by telehealth. Your physician checks your skin, any injection sites, and your symptoms.
- Labs when clinically appropriate. Drawn at home, then reviewed with you.
- Scheduled check-ins. The first one usually comes a few weeks after you start, then at intervals your physician sets.
- An agreed review date. We set a date to judge whether you see a real benefit, so you don’t keep using a product with no clear result.
- Clear reasons to stop. You’ll know which symptoms mean stopping and calling us.
- Referral when needed. If something needs a specialist, we coordinate it and share your history.
Unify Care is independent and physician-led. We do not prescribe, sell, supply, or source GHK-Cu peptides. Our role is independent physician consultation, risk assessment, and appropriate monitoring. Any monitoring we offer is not an endorsement of a product.
What to Bring to Consultation
- The product or a clear photo of its label
- Where you bought it and how much you use, how often, and for how long
- Your medications, supplements, and other peptides
- Recent lab results, if you have them
- Photos of your skin or hair over time, if relevant
What Brings You Here?
Most people ask about GHK-Cu because of a specific goal. We start there, look at what the research supports, and show you which options are most likely to help.
Skin texture, fine lines, and firmness
Small topical studies suggest a modest cosmetic effect. We compare it with proven options such as microneedling, chemical peels, and Sculptra, which Dr. Mower provides at home.
Thinning hair and scalp health
Human evidence for GHK-Cu here is very limited. We look for the cause first, including labs for hormones, thyroid, and iron, then discuss treatments with stronger support.
Recovery after cosmetic procedures
No clear benefit has been shown. We build your aftercare around your procedure and skin, and check whether any product you use could cause irritation.
Wound healing and tissue recovery
Human wound studies have produced mixed results. A slow-healing wound or injury needs a proper exam, and we can assess it at your home.

The risks of GHK-Cu depend on the product, its source, and how it’s used. The safety of injections and long-term use has not been well studied. Your physician helps you weigh those unknowns against your own health.

GHK-Cu Peptide Therapy in Orange County
Yes. Our physicians see patients at home, at work, or by telehealth across Orange County and Southern California. For GHK-Cu, our care means consultation, risk assessment, and monitoring. We do not prescribe, supply, or administer the peptide.
No. We do not sell, supply, or source GHK-Cu. We offer physician guidance instead: a review of the evidence, your health history, and the product you’re considering, plus monitoring if you decide to use it.
No. GHK-Cu is not FDA-approved to treat any condition. Its status for use by compounding pharmacies has been under FDA review and changed during 2026, and we can explain where it stands at your visit. Copper peptides can still appear in cosmetic products, which are regulated differently from drugs.
It depends on your health and the product. Some patients need no testing. Others benefit from labs such as a blood count, kidney and liver function, or copper and ceruloplasmin levels. Your physician recommends only tests that are clinically indicated, and we can draw them at home.
A single in-home consultation is $399 through our Pay-Per-Visit option. Members on our Standard ($399/month) or Premium ($799/month) plans can cover GHK-Cu questions within their regular visits and telehealth access. Lab costs are separate and can often be billed to your insurance.
Tell us about everything you use, including retinoids, acids, other peptides, and recent procedures like microneedling or peels. Some combinations raise the risk of irritation or make it hard to tell what is causing a reaction. We’ll help you plan treatments in a safe order.
Yes. We start with your goal, not the product. For skin, we compare GHK-Cu with proven options like microneedling, chemical peels, and Sculptra, which Dr. Mower provides at home. For thinning hair, we look for the cause first, including lab testing. For recovery after a procedure or injury, we build aftercare around your situation and examine anything that isn’t healing as expected.
There is no reliable timeline for GHK-Cu, because human studies are small and results vary. Most topical skin studies ran for about two to three months, and any changes they reported were modest. Your physician can set realistic expectations for your goal and agree on a point to reassess, so you are not using a product indefinitely without knowing if it helps.
Bring a list of your medications and supplements, any recent lab results, and your main questions or goals. If you already use GHK-Cu or another peptide, bring the product or a photo of the label, where you bought it, how much you use, how often, and any symptoms you’ve noticed. Photos of your skin or hair over time can also help.
No. Our physicians can prescribe FDA-approved peptide medications when they are medically appropriate, such as GLP-1 medications used in our weight loss program. We do not prescribe, sell, or supply GHK-Cu or other unapproved peptides. For those, we offer consultation, a personal risk review, and monitoring.
Topical GHK-Cu can cause redness, itching, or irritation, especially when combined with acids or retinoids. Injected products can cause pain, swelling, or infection at the injection site, and their long-term effects have not been well studied. Your physician reviews these risks at your consultation and checks for them at each follow-up. If something changes between visits, contact us and we can examine it at home.
